November 2025
Building
This month has been about consistently moving forward. Katrina has been mudding and sanding the tasting room walls. Soon she will paint, then finish the trim for interior windows, doors, and baseboards. Derek has finished the wiring work with Nate Mooney and made preparations for the mechanical room.
At the Beaverhead County Courthouse, we traced the deed of the building. On July 1, 1922, the Olmstead-Stevenson Company sold the building to The Waldorf Company for $10. Then, on June 10th, 1930, it was bought by The Graeter-Waldorf Company for another $10. As we hear it, the Graeter family was from Bannock – we’ll do some research and let you know what we learn.
Business / Community
Jesse Scofield made the first light for our tasting room and it looks amazing (see below). He’ll make two more, then a larger one for over our point of sale area.
Derek found a going-out-of-business auction in Kentucky of a chocolate candy factory. Turns out, they had two 15gal vat pasteurizers that we will look to repurpose for eggnog production next year.
Distillery
With temperatures dropping and snow already here, we’ve been warming up with a few favorite drinks. Katrina’s fall cocktail of choice is a Martinez (equal parts gin and sweet vermouth with a little cherry liquor and a dash of bitters). Derek has been enjoying some Whiskey Acres bourbon, neat.
If you are interested in placing an order for Christmas shrubs, email Katrina for by Dec 10 (pickup/delivery on Monday, Dec 22 or by appt). Delicious in a cocktail or simply with sparkling water and an orange peel garnish, here are the holiday flavors:
Pear Ginger Honey (made with Beaverhead Honey)
Plum Ginger Spice
Apple Cinnamon & Cardamom
Western Chokecherry (from chokecherries picked right here in Dillon!)
Each shrub comes in a custom Terminus Distilling Company 16oz yowler. With our suggested 1.5oz pours, this makes about 10 drinks. Holiday sale: $15 each (includes $5 yowler purchase). For those of you who have a yowler to trade in, then $10/each. katrina@terminusdistillingcompany.com
If you’re looking for gifts this holiday season, we have merch for sale, including hats, tshirts, and Tervis tumblers. Email Katrina for orders, sizes, and (if applicable) shipping.
