Building

We’re whittling down the ‘must do’ list before opening. Outside, Derek built and hung a second flower box and cleaned up the grounds, while Katrina painted the trim on the corner windows and employees’ door. Inside, trim is finished, fridges and kegerators are installed, and Point of Sale is up and running. With all that done, we’re in a holding pattern as we wait on final approvals from the state.

Business / Community

We have a phone number! (406) 988-0018. For those of you who pay attention to county codes on Montana license plates, you'll know 18 is Beaverhead County.

Many local businesses are helping us get ready to open. Nate Mooney of Moonlite Electrical has run our wire, Ben Kenneally of Lights in the Night Neon is making our signs, Flower Frenzy grew beautiful flowers that we planted in our boxes, Jesse Scofield is crafting outdoor lighting, and Womack’s Printing is helping us evolve our shrub labels. Without their help, we wouldn’t be where we are.

This month, we helped run the Second Annual Tweedy Mountain Fun Club Stick Horse Stampede in support of the Early Childhood Coalition of Beaverhead County. Debbie from The Bookstore read ‘horse tales,’ the Dillon Public Library hosted horse-themed crafts, Rugged Electric provided cotton candy, and Liz Crowley provided the sparkle for The Glam Stands. We’re grateful to everyone who made it such an amazing event.

Distillery

Our Scottish friend, Craig, visited Montana a few weeks ago and brought us a Single Malt Whisky from the Isle of Arran. It’s incredible. We hope to make it over there soon and visit the sister distilleries on the island.

Rhubarb is in full swing and we’re picking as much as possible to make shrubs. Katrina’s strawberry rhubarb with ginger is a hit, and she’s tinkering with a rhubarb hibiscus syrup to add to our ginger beer. Keep an eye on our online store for updated summer shrubs and our upcoming menu.
